The Darwin Centre, permanent exhibition graphic design strategy

Opened in September 2009, the extraordinary 1600 sqm cocoon-shaped building houses the museum’s botany and entomology collection.

Lucy or Robert worked with exhibition designers At Large to create displays for the public areas. The graphic scheme was inspired by the museum’s historical collection of herbarium and entomological drawings, and resulted in spectacular visual displays of biodiversity.

A variety of innovative graphic materials is used, including ceramic tiles, large-scale alucabond panels, projections and interactive media.
