Surreal things
Temporary exhibition

The exhibition explores the influence of Surrealism on the worlds of fashion, design, theatre, interiors, film, architecture and advertising. It shows how artists engaged with design and how designers were inspired by Surrealism.

The graphic scheme, derived from research into original source material, evokes this momentous period in design history. Set pieces required the recreation of Max Ernst’s mural in Eluard’s house in Eaubonne; and wallpaper from Edward James’ bizarre home Monkton.
